BOOKLOOP BOOKS PTY LTD – SHIPPING AND RETURNS POLICY

1. Shipping

1. Domestic Shipping

Shipping cost: Once you have placed the items you wish to purchase into your shopping cart, we will calculate the cost of delivery for you based on your delivery address.

The cost of delivery for all orders to an Australian destination (whether ordered domestically or overseas) is $7.95. We charge a flat-rate per order to Australian delivery addresses, or $14.95 for any New Zealand delivery address, for as many items as you’d like to order.

All shipments will have full tracking available via the chosen carrier.

Delivery time: Once your order has been shipped, an automated email will be sent confirming despatch, with tracking code.

Deliveries with Standard Australia Post generally take between 2-10 working days to arrive, depending on the postcode and shipping method being used.  If your postcode is in a metropolitan area, deliveries may be received within 4 working days. If your postcode is in a regional area, deliveries may be received within 6 working days. Estimated shipping timeframes will be shown at checkout.

Delivery times may be subject to delays due to factors including increased order volumes, warehouse disruptions, stock availability issues, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.  Additionally, the product ordered may need to be sourced from an Australian or overseas supplier. Each item ordered may have different delivery expectations depending on availability.

While we strive to maintain accurate stock information on our website, discrepancies may occasionally occur.  If your order is affected by a delay or stock unavailability, we will promptly notify you and provide an updated delivery estimate where possible.  In the event of a substantial delay we will offer a full refund.

2. International Shipping

In accordance with our Terms and Conditions, we reserve the right to, at our absolute discretion, reject an order. If our delivery partner does not delivery to your specified address, we have the right to reject your order before it is processed.

Once your order has been shipped, an automated email will be sent confirming despatch, with tracking code. All overseas orders are consolidated into a single shipment.

Except New Zealand, all international orders will require specialty pricing. Please contact BookLoop Customer Support for more information.

Orders over the value of NZD$1,000 being delivered to New Zealand will be liable for customs charges, taxes including GST and brokerage costs. These charges are your responsibility, and we will not reimburse you for these import costs or provide a refund or credit for any order if you refuse to pay them. Please contact BookLoop Customer Support to discuss what arrangements may be possible for your order.

2. Other circumstances affecting shipping and delivery

 1. Print on Demand and special sourcing orders

Print on Demand titles may have different delivery expectations and return policies.  We will advise you if your order includes such items. Some highly specialised books (known as 'indent titles') or titles awaiting reprint may take 6 to 12 weeks to source from global suppliers.

2. Orders with multiple items

We may despatch orders containing multiple items in separate shipments.  To optimise delivery efficiency, we reserve the right to hold items after the initial allocation to consolidate as many items as possible into a single shipment.  This approach aims to reduce the number of separate deliveries for customers ordering multiple items.

3. Lost or missing orders due to incorrect information

We will not be liable for any shipment that is materially delayed or lost due to incorrect or insufficient details provided by you.

If we have incorrectly addressed your package, we will be responsible for resending, replacing, or refunding the items that were not delivered or were delayed. This includes covering any additional costs for packaging and delivery.

In the event that a package with correct delivery information is lost by Australia Post, we will, at our discretion, either replace the items at our expense or issue a store credit if you find the timing of replacement shipment unacceptable.  Prior to requesting replacement or credit, you must verify with your local Post Office that the package is not being held there.

4. Mail Redirections

Please note that Australia Post redirections may not work with packages. We are not responsible for replacing goods or covering extra costs if a redirection is unsuccessful.  To minimise delays, please contact our Customer Support team before you move to ensure your current order has updated delivery details.

3. Returns for change of mind

We offer store credit or refunds of products for change of mind where we determine (at our absolute discretion):

  • you have provided the proof of purchase and you purchased the products within 30 days prior to the request for an exchange or refund;
  • the products are in their original condition and have not been used, damaged, tampered with, or altered;
  • the products are in their original undamaged packaging with all product tags still intact; and
  • the products are not sale items, custom-made, special buy products or gift vouchers.

Please note that we do not offer returns or store credit for change of mind for:

  • bulk orders with special pricing or sourcing arrangements; and
  • print on demand titles.

We will not cover the costs of delivery or re-delivery for a change of mind return. You must cover these yourself.

You may have rights under the Australian Consumer Law (see below).

4. Australian Consumer Law (including faulty or defective products)

In Australia, our goods come with guarantees which cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.  You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.  You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Where you return products to us to seek an Australian Consumer Law remedy, you will need to cover any associated costs (for example delivery costs) of you returning the products to us.

Where your claim is a valid claim under the Australian Consumer Law, we will refund your return delivery costs and, depending on the failure, either despatch a new or repaired replacement product or refund you the price of the relevant product.
