Boondaburra

Boondaburra is an Australian tale of belonging and identity told through a platypus who is bullied by the other animals in the bush because he's a bit different. Fantastic for young classrooms and home bookshelves, Boondaburra teaches children about the effects of bullying and about the importance of diversity. The story shows how our differences can sometimes feel daunting, but those difference are also what make us unique and give us strength. This picture book features many of the quintessential Australian animals of the bush, teaching children about how even in their own backyard there's a need to understand and be accepting of other's differences. Boondaburra won the CALEB Prize for Unpublished Manuscript 2011.
